THIS IS AMAZING

I’m about five of these listed above. I’m not sure if that makes me extra weird.

This post. Forget all the posts that try to lift your self esteem or show fluffy kittens because they supposedly will make you happy. THIS POST has made me happier than any other post that was meant to make me happy ever has.

This may be my favorite post ever and I may repost it every time I see it

1 in 5 teenagers have thought about suicide, about 1 in 6 teenagers have made plans for suicide, and more than 1 in 12 teenagers have attempted suicide in the last year. As many as 8 out of 10 teenagers who have commited suicide tried to ask for help in some way before committing suicide. Reblog this if you’re always here to listen.

Because why go outside (gasp!) and get involved when you can just like and reblog posts from the comfort of your home.

Because sometimes you’re young, and can’t leave your area, or parents won’t let You get involved. so the only thing you can do is spread the message so someone who can help will see it.

"Aaaand made a comic to make people feel bad about themselves, when I’m not doing anything either. Gee that was good use of my time."

why are people starting to make comics on what they cant really saybecause they’re scared…but says it anyways in a drawing, they’re still gonna get backfire and messages on these dumbass shit, this is the same as that dumbass shark drawing

Also, note: online activism, while not as “active” as demonstrations and protests (do you have reliable transportation? Can you take time off from work? Are you physically or mentally able to make the trip and participate? Do you have the finances to be able to do this? are there an protests in your area?), there is now a GENERATION of kids being exposed to these discussions and theories about race and religion and sexuality and gender and ableism, that they were not hearing about previously.

We now have young girls openly celebrating each other and representations of themselves in media, when they’d be tearing each other apart just 10 years ago (Anyone remember mid-2000 fandom culture towards women? Remember “not like other girls”? I do. Shit was terrifying). We have PoC and trans people getting their voices heard when talking about their firsthand experiences.

Using the Internet as a medium, a BUNCH of kids and adults have learned new things about sociology that they wouldn’t have been exposed to otherwise.

All I am saying is, if it wasn’t for this website, I’d still be just as racist and transphobic and misogynistic and classist as I was when I was 13. I’d be a LOT worse. Don’t tell me that online activism doesn’t do anything. It teaches people and is readily accessible to most people and it encourages discussion. There’s always more that can be done, but don’t mark off online activism as lazy or unimportant.

And to the person who thought it was a good idea to make this comic, have you forgotten that if it wasn’t for social media like Twitter and Tumblr, we wouldn’t have any fucking idea what was going on in Ferguson in the first place?

Shut your fucking pie hole, you piece of shit.
